Enrolments

We thank you for considering enrolling your child at Clarence High School.

DISCOVER CLARENCE

Our annual information evening, Discover Clarence, for year 6 students and their families is held during May each year.  Here are some Frequently_asked_questions.pdf (Discover Clarence FAQ's) from previous events which may assist with any queries you have regarding enrolment for year 7.
Please find below a virtual tour of the school undertaken by members of our school’s Prefect Board, together with information from our senior staff and teachers.

Following the introduction of the Education Act 2016 we must now follow the Secretary’s Instruction No 2 which sets out the manner for determining whether a State school has the ability to accept out of area enrolments, the conditions of the State school’s out of intake area enrolment procedure and criteria to prioritise enrolment.  You are able to view the criteria on the Department of Education’s website under policies and procedures.

IN AREA ENROLMENTS

An enrolment is guaranteed for students who attend our “neighbourhood” schools, Howrah or Bellerive Primary schools.  A High School Intention form will be sent home from your primary school during June together with a letter outlining the enrolment process .  An enrolment is also guaranteed for those students who reside within our school’s “neighbourhood” zone.  Please note that we will require proof of your residential address to support enrolment.

OUT OF AREA ENROLMENTS

If your child attends a school other than those listed above or you reside outside of our schools “neighbourhood” zone then you must complete an Expression of Interest Enrolment Form - Out of Area Enrolment. The form is available by clicking this link or from the school office.  Once your form is submitted, together with the required evidence to support your application, it will be assessed by our Principal and you will receive notification of a decision within fourteen (14) days.

If your application is for Year 7 the following year, these will be accepted from the start of term 3.  Parents will be notified of acceptance/non acceptance by the second week of term 4.
